Us Wash U students don't have much time for shopping on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday afternoons are usually dedicated to the library), but when I have that rare moment for self-indulgence, I seize it. Finding good shopping in St. Louis is actually quite easy, you just have to know where to look. Of course, the obvious choices are The St. Louis Galleria and Plaza Frontenac, which carry the usual suspects like Nordstrom, Urban Outfitters, and Saks Fifth Ave. However, if you are looking for a real St. Louis shopping experience, there are boutiques all over the place that carry cute, affordable items.
One of my favorite places to shop is Pitaya on The Delmar Loop. A fairly small store, Pitaya carries a ton of merchandise and accessories that are cute, girly, fun, young, and trendy. Another plus: their prices resemble that of H & M, but the quality is undoubtedly better. Stop by for a great selection of colored jeans, party dresses, cozy sweaters, printed scarves, and trendy accessories!

One of the looks I styled with Pitaya merchandise. Red jeans, black and white knit sweater, utility jacket with leather sleeves (on sale for $50!), printed scarf, black duffle, and black Isabel-Marant inspired booties:
Another look that shows their range of products: a sweet cream fit-and-flare dress, a little tweed jacket, and envelope clutch.
