A (Weekend) In The City

So I have a ton of photos to post from my few days in San Francisco! I love San Fran because even though its geographically small, there are so many cool and diverse neighborhoods (and shops) to explore! Unfortunately, the weather was a lot more wet than I expected, so I had to do edit some of my original outfits. But I had fun challenging myself!

Last Day: Balenciaga Exhibit at the De Young Museum in Golden Gate Park
Dress and Sweater: H&M, Shoes: Kelsi Dagger, Purse: Marc by Marc Jacobs

On my last day in SF, I went to the Balenciaga and Spain Exhibit at the De Young Museum. The exhibit was amazing, showcasing some of Christobal Balenciaga's best and most famous pieces from the 1930's through the 1960's. Although I couldn't take any pictures in the exhibit , I snuck a few pics to prove I was there!

San Francisco Packing List

Today I arrived in San Francisco for a short family vacation, and wanted to share a spread of clothes that I packed! I'm only here for a few days, so I needed to pack lightly. I tried to pack summery clothes that would also work with the cooler weather (its about 60 degrees here instead of the 90 in LA), and I made sure to pack appropriately for daytime activities and nighttime festivities!

Stay tuned for actual pictures of my outfits!

Daytime Outfits:
For one day, I'm going to wear green cargo/harem pants with an off-white blouse to make it a little more sophisticated. I love my nude flats with the outfit- simple, comfy, chic. For a more fashion-forward look, I'm going to wear a black maxi dress with a cropped sweater over and then black sandals for walking around all day! My trusted red cross-body bag adds some color to both of these looks.

Nighttime Outfits:
For our nice dinners, I decided to pack a leopard print knit dress which is chic AND warm. It is such a great standout piece that all I need is a black blazer and black heels to polish it off. For a more upbeat look, I'm going to wear a bright pink high-waisted skirt with a bright blue tank (trying out some color blocking). Nude wedges compliment the bright colors.

Favorite Fall 2011 Campaigns

The Fall 2011 ad campaigns have been finding their way onto the internet in the last few weeks. While most of them are great, here are a few of my favorites (check out all of them on The Cut). My favorite ads are the ones with the freshest styling, in which the designer took a departure from what is normal for them and adapted to the every-changing world of fashion and trends.
Isabel Marant went more minimalist, with this black-and-white and almost-bare shot of Freja Beha Erichsen.

While D&G stuck to their pattern of group shots, their mix of prints and colors, and background of (what looks like) a tunnel, give the campaign a new edge.

Miuccia Prada proves she is a fashion chameleon, moving on from the dramatic shots of bold stripes and patterns, to a campaign of lounging models in soft colors with ladylike details.

Marc Jacobs's newest muse, Helena Bonham Carter, serves as the model for his newest ad campaign, proving that even though you may not be 16 or a size 0, you can still work it.

For her menswear campaign, Prada called on talented actor Tobey McGuire, who looks handsome, mysterious, pensive. I'm  personally just excited that Tobey is making his mark in fashion!

Ok, aren't these just killer boots? I think so.

Family Ties

For Father's Day today, my grandpa, aunt, uncle, and cousin came over for a lovely dinner. I of course had to document some great fashion!

New Acquisitions and New Look!

Over the last few days, I have bought a few new items! I ordered a pair of Kelsi Dagger black sandals and bought an orange YSL lipstick! Of course, I just HAD to try them both out today, so I paired them with an easy gray and white striped maxi dress and my black, cream, and brown purse that I've been carrying these last few days. I added the black blazer for a bit of polish, but realized soon that it was way too hot today for it!
